Can't recognize this engraver's mark....any help would be appreciated
|
Hello All,
I just purchased these two engraved Ruger Single-Six's. They are engraved with the same engraver's mark. I called Ruger and it's not a factory job. Any help would be appreciated. They both have the same marking on them. You can see it in this picture just forward of the frame, at the beginning of the barrel.
Thanks,
Vito

Vito,
That is the hallmark of the late Robert C. Kain of Canaan, CT. During his career, Bob did several large engraving projects for Marlin and Harrington & Richardson as well as other companies who did not have an in-house engraving staff. Bob passed away just a few years ago but I do not have his date of death. Perhaps, Bob Evens, the FEGA historian has that piece of information.

Vito,
I found Bob Kain's date of death in my records. He passed away in November 2008 at the age of 80.
