Website Update June 2005:
As you take a look at the site please let me know of anything which needs to be changed, corrected, etc. If you have questions of how, or why, things work please let me know. I am still working on many areas of the site so please realize it is not yet done. Soon, I plan to add explanations of parts which need clarifying and I will explain how various parts of the site should function.

OK a suggestion for blind bats like myself who hate looking at miniature type. Make the borders a hair smaller so you can make the type larger. Just makes it easier to read and we really don't need such a large frame surrounding everything.

Marty,
I changed this page. Is this better? I can change the other forum pages to be this way - if this is OK.

Bill
You might want to see how the home page looks with bigger bolder type sort of the size that is now on the present home page thatwe are changing. It is harder to read then what you have on the various member pages. There's alot of info on thatpage for people. Lets make it easier for them to read. Otherwise looks great cant wait to expose it to the world

Marty,
I have made the text a bit larger on the home page. When you get to the home page you may need to click refresh to see the change.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Bill
The home page looks much better now and easier to read. What's your time table for getting this new site online and up and running for the general peones?

Bill will the link to the annual exhibition be able to support displayingthe auction catalog when it is prepared for the upcoming banquet and fundraiser? this year we will be dependent on Jan and Bruce to getting it put together

Roger, I can easily put that on. If you have a Microsoft Access database file of the items, please email it to me and I will get started on it right away. Thanks.

Hey Bill
Am I missing something or do we not have the gallery of photographs like we had on the old web site? All I see is professional and regular members pictures not the generic collection of engraved guns

Hi Marty,
Thanks for your question.
No, you are not missing anything. The "Gallery" of engr. pictures which was on the 'old' site is not on the 'new' site. The 'old' site 'gallery' page was an HTML type page and as such required maintainance - updating images, links. It was difficult to keep up. The new site is maintained much more 'automatically' and is much easier to keep up. Now, when a member wants his/her work shown online a box is checked indicating they want their work shown. As long as they are a current member their work/info will be shown. When they are no longer a member their work will cease to be shown - automatically, with no effort from the person taking care of the site.
The 'old' gallery type page was nice, and I have also made up a similar page using the same database as is now in use for the photos of CP and Reg members. If you like it I would be happy to put it on the site with links on the Home Page and to the photo pages now showing. The link is:
http://fega.com/membership/GalleryImages.asp
Let me know what you think of it. You will need to use your 'back' button to go back to the page if you use any of the links on the page.
I hope this all makes sense. If you have any questions please let me know.

Actually Bill I do like it. It's interesting how by clicking a picture you go the the engravers link. I think this is a very visual easy way for a visitor to see whats going on and access an engraver very easily. What does everyone else think?
