John .. the best guy i knew was the Gold Line in ct. Jeff did a great job and good turn around . He went out of business and I hear from the Turnbull team he is back but when I call the # given to me I dont get an answer . Nowi just sent some colt parts to a plater in florida." Fords" that was 3 weeks ago i still havent got them back when i call them they tell me that they should be done this week that was 3 weeks ago. so if you find some one ask about there turn around time .. ron

i used a guy in fl. several yrs. ago by name of cogans custom guns or accurate plating on the net. i believe harbor lake. his work in my opinion is most excelent. he did a couple nickle jobs on some colts. i just thought of him later yesterday eve after i had posted my question. i emailed & got price answer today 30 bucks for each small part done in bright gold . 23 per for brushed florentine. 4 grip screws equal 1 small part, for what i want , thats 120.00 plus shipping both ways. what do you think of this? , and i appreciate your response ,as i do need to shop around. i don,t know of his turn around but i think it would be pretty good. to me it is not the price, but the best quality. thanks again ron

hi John .. That sounds like a good price . When the gold line did a colt saa back strap hammer and trigger guard for me it cost around 85.00 but that was back in 1998. Now what is his turn around time, if he is going to tie the parts up for a month that is another problem . I like service and quick turn around time so i can get the gun back to my customer . Quality is also important . I polish all of my parts so i know what kind of finish to expect .. ron
