Martin Strolz was first educated as an engraver in Steyr. After four years he graduated with distinction in 1976. He then studied in Ferlach under Hans Singer and completed his diploma as a master engraver in 1980. In his studio in Ferlach he worked for gunmakers Franz Sodia and Lechner & Jungl.
He has taught engraving in schools and in his own studio. In 1986 he moved back to Steyr, since then he is part of HTL-Steyr faculty serving Austrian and international students.
In 2009 he was instructor for the GRS Grand Master’s Program in Emporia, KS.
He only works on selected commissions for engravings on high quality firearms.
