Topic: 2010 Seminar DVDs and castings now available! Number of Responses: 0
The "Members Only" special priced set of the 2010 DVDs are now available online from FEGA. We are offering a special price for a limited time on the set of DVDs and also have them packaged with the castings as well.
The set price is $20.00 less than the regular price and will only be good until May 15th. When ordering members must click the "FEGA members click here" at the top of the page and then log in. Then the special priced packages will show. We have some sets now in stock but since this is a "pre-order" special there may be a slight delay in shipping if we get many orders.
There will also be a flyer in the next Engraver if you would like to mail in an order. I am expecting the next issue to be sent out right around the first of April. These sets include the seminars from Diane Scalese on "Flair Cut Scroll" and Barry Lee Hands on Three Segment Leaf. Arabesque through four thousand years of ornament.
These are great seminars and I'm sure if you were there you will want to order them!

Topic: New book available at FEGA now! Number of Responses: 0
I just thought I would let everyone know that the third in a series of books from Blue Book Publications "Giancarlo & Stefano Pedretti - Master Engravers" is now in print and just arrived at the FEGA home office.
The first two were fantastic and I am sure this will be no exception.
They are now available on the FEGA web site. Remember, if you are a member of FEGA to click the "FEGA members click here" section at the top of the book page and log in. This will allow you to get free shipping on the book or other items. (USA only |

Topic: Another Reno 2010 post Number of Responses: 0
Now that Reno is past us and we are all catching up on rest and work, I would like to once again say THANKS for all that attended the show! We had a great crowd for the social, show and seminars. All of you that helped out at the show (you know who you are) thanks again as well. It takes a lot of time and people to pull all of this off and things went great this year.
Now... Just as a reminder for many of you. A lot of you may have joined at the show last year. Be sure to check to make sure your membership is current. That goes for the rest of you as well. You can log on to the FEGA web site and check to see if your membership is expired. The next issue of the Engraver will be coming out in a couple of months with all the show stuff and you won't want to miss that!
Again, THANKS!!

Tim,
I think you are right about the engravers initals on the left side.
But you can hardly see them on the picture you posted.
Any chance you can get a better picture of this area for us to help you?
Or can you make a blow up of this section or make a smoke or ink pull and enlarge it in your copier?
Looks like some pretty nice, clean engraving. Just a wild guess at this stage but the work looks a little like Angelo Bee engraving.
He usually signs A.Bee and sometime also adds a small bee engraved too.
But that is just a guess at this time.
Best, John. |

I just bought a beautifully engraved Colt Bisley SA. Inside the loading gate are the initials WBE. Can anyone tell me who this engraver is?
Thanks,

Topic: FEGA scholarship Number of Responses: 0
This is a reminder to all who are interested in applying for a F.E.G.A. scholarship for 2010. We need your application postmarked by Dec. 1, 2009. This will give us time to decide who the recipient will be and notify them so they can make plans if they wish to, to attend the annual exhibition in Reno, where the formal announcement will be made. Attendance at the exhibition is not required. We will have two scholarships available for 2010. Each scholarship will be $300. We will award one for a beginner class and one for an intermediate/ advanced class.
Applicants must 16 years of age and a member of F.E.G.A. The money will be paid to the school of instruction after proof of attendance has been submitted. The class to be attended must teach techniques applicable to firearms engraving. The schools that will be accepted must be schools or individuals with a track record of teaching and be approved by the FEGA board of directors. In other words you can’t take the three hundred and split it with your neighbor and say you’ve taken an engraving class. You will also be required to write a short half page article with two photos of what you learned during the class.
The application consists of sending in the following information:
-Applicants name, address, city, state, zip, and phone number
-Class, instructor, and school
-A statement describing your interest in firearms engraving and why you are applying for the scholarship.
-If applying for an intermediate/ advanced class list past classes taken, experience, and/or photos of work.
Send applications to:
