Topic: Can't recognize this engraver's mark....any help would be appreciated Number of Responses: 4
Hello All,
I just purchased these two engraved Ruger Single-Six's. They are engraved with the same engraver's mark. I called Ruger and it's not a factory job. Any help would be appreciated. They both have the same marking on them. You can see it in this picture just forward of the frame, at the beginning of the barrel.
Thanks,
Vito

Topic: pick-up engraving Number of Responses: 1
I have a Westly Richards SXS and I'd like to have the engraving picked-up. I'm an associate of ACGG. Anyone who specializes in this or just likes to do it?
Thanks--

Topic: Engraved Colt Dragoon Number of Responses: 4
I just bought a 2nd issure Colt Dragoon that has the L. D. Nimschke style engraging on it as show in the book. Serial number is 247XX and it has very well fitted walnut grips on it and looks to be silver plated. The engraving is very well done and looks to be hand engraved.
It came with a white stayaform Colt Box but no other case. It does not have the gold cyclinder, ramrod or other parts plated with gold or ivoey grips.
Would it possible to find out who the engraver was and more about this gun. It does have all the engraving as show on the limited run of fifty with Nimschkes name on the left side as show in the book.
Any help of this gun would be nice and what the valuse may be.

Topic: Return from Italian Engravers trip organized by Chris DeCamillis Number of Responses: 2
I was very privileged to go on this tour to Italy. It is hard to describe the wonderful time spent with these great masters. Our interpreter was Elena and she did a fantastic job of translating our questions.
These masters were so humble. They always offered us beverages when we entered their homes. We stood in their small studios held their work in progress. We studied it with loops and other magnification. Each master has their own style and they willingly answered any questions we asked.
Now that I'm home it's hard to believe this experience really happened. There are some great pictures posted on The Engravers Cafe and on the Engravers Studio if you want to see pictures of these great masters.
The following are the studios we visited:
Creative Arts
Giovanelli
Lionello Sabatti
Pedersoli
Firmo and Francesca Fracassi
Mario Terzi
Pedretti
Manrico Tercoli
Fratelli Dassa
Frederique Lepinois
This engraving world we have is very special and it's so rewarding to see we Americans are building on this art form.
Thanks to all of you,

Topic: Engravers of the late 1800's Number of Responses: 5
| Does anyone have or know of information regarding engravers during the late 1800's and early 1900's. To be more specific those that may have worked for the Lefever Arms Company and /or Ithaca when they took over the Lefever Arms Co. Thank you. |
