Additional rules, regulation and clarifications:
To enter the awards competition:
You must be a FEGA member and have purchased a table at the show.
Tables may not be shared.

You may enter your engraved gun or other item in as many categories as you like for which the item is qualified.
The decision of FEGA Vice President Blue to accept or decline an item for a specific award category shall be final.

Firearms and other items must be in a finished engraved state.

If you should win an award in a category, you cannot enter that same item in that same category in subsequent years award competition, but you may enter it in any other categories for which it qualifies and which it has not previously won.

For the Metal-on-Metal Award, you may enter any object on which you have performed metal inlay or overlay or combination thereof; it need not be a firearm.

For the Artistic Uniqueness Award, you may enter any object which you have
engraved; it need not be a firearm.

TO BE A JUDGE:

You are automatically qualified as a contest judge if:

1. You are an exhibiting FEGA member. This means if you are an active member who has purchased a table at the show, you can be a judge in the appropriate competitions. You are the judge and may cast a ballot. One ballot per table. No one else who might be helping you at your table -- no wives, no friends, no offspring or pets may vote -- just you, as you are the artist and table holder. You are qualified to judge in any contests except one that you have entered.

Or:

2. You are a current FEGA Master Engraver, even if you do not have a table.
What this means is that if you are a FEGA Master Engraver and are not exhibiting, you can still be a judge in any and all contests. Because you have attained FEGA Master Engraver status, we value your dedication to the art and our guild, and we respect, and want the benefit of, your judgment.

NOTE: You cannot judge unless you are a table holding exhibitor or are a FEGA Master Engraver. It doesn't matter how accomplished an engraver you are. Unless you meet one of the two criteria listed above, you cannot vote. This policy is designed to encourage FEGA members and FEGA Master Engravers to become involved and to display and compete. It also eliminates the need to select judges at our annual meeting and frees up scarce time needed for other guild business.

3. Exceptions to the above voting rules:

THE ENGRAVERS CHOICE AWARD
For this competition, each current FEGA member present at the show, whether a table holder or not, may cast one ballot for a winner and two runners-up in this category. Ballots are available at the FEGA table one ballot per member. You are encouraged to pick your favorites.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE TABLE AWARD
For this competition, each current FEGA member present at the show, whether a table holder or not, may cast one ballot for a winner. Ballots are available at the FEGA table one ballot per member.

Awards judging commences at 12PM on Friday, January 26th.
Verbal announcements will be made during the show to advise you when to bring your items to the judging table, when to vote, and when to retrieve your items.
