I think you are right about the engravers initals on the left side.
But you can hardly see them on the picture you posted.
Any chance you can get a better picture of this area for us to help you?
Or can you make a blow up of this section or make a smoke or ink pull and enlarge it in your copier?

Looks like some pretty nice, clean engraving. Just a wild guess at this stage but the work looks a little like Angelo Bee engraving.
He usually signs A.Bee and sometime also adds a small bee engraved too.
But that is just a guess at this time.

I would be inclined to agree with John on who engraved the gun but originally factory engraved Pedersons were engraved by Ralph Alpine. I think an enlargement of the mark will tell if it was Angelo or Ralph but the works looks more like Angelo's to me.

On the left side of the receiver, below the engraving there appears to be the initials (or something) Cany anyone identify if these could be the engaver's initials and who might have done the engraving??
