Know this engraver? |
I am trying to find out the name of an engraver who signed an engraved rifle with the initials RJC. This is a contemperary practitioner. Any ideas?

Hello King Sam.
I expect it is the work of my good friend Ron J. Collings of Vista, California.
Ron served his apprenticeship in Birmingham, England. He has worked in this country for 25-30 years, many years for Duncan Gunworks in California.
Email me if you need more information, phone number or address for Ron.
Y. O. S. John Barraclough.

Mystery solved!
I talked to Ron Collings today, before he left on a quick trip to England.
He said that he had done this gun about 12 years ago, one of a pair, he thought.
They were done in a style to represent the old Winchester engraving from the turn of the century.
This was the customers request, and is not Mr. Collings personal style.
