| Reno Show |
Well, I have my hotel and airline reservations all done for my first FEGA show and am getting excited about attending. We'll arrive at Reno on Friday morning and was wondering what will be happening that afternoon and evening. I know the schedule is still being worked out but I was just curious. I'm looking forward to meeting all you guys and gals. Some I know personally but most of you I only know through the various forums. It will be a good time for me and I'm already planning on attending the seminars, twice if I can make it work!

Darn Bill,
You should have come in on Thursday! We have our informal get together that evening. Friday is pretty much show all day/night. Set up in the morning and the show runs till 9:00 that night. The general meeting is Saturday morning, the banquet Saturday evening and Seminars are on Monday.
You'll have a great time and look forward to seeing you again!

I knew I should have checked about the schedule! Miss Mary is trying to rearrange the flight and hotel room. Maybe it will work out.

That would be a good move William. It is a very nice social event and good mixer. Now, if you really want to spend some money, come on Tuesday and take in the SCI show. Just kidding. You will not regret attending the FEGA show, or if you do I think you will be the first ever to do so.

Thanks Sam, I'm sure we will enjoy ourselves. Miss Mary did good and got our tickets changed without too much extra money so we will arrive Thursday morning and leave Tuesday afternoon. Sorry guys and gals, but you will have to put up with us a few more days!
I'm sure Miss Mary will have a good time while I am busy in the show....she is an expert on penny and nickle slots!

Bill, I look forward to meeting you and everyone else in Reno. FEGA is filled with really nice, tolerant people. They allow me to hover around.

You'll love it. Went to my first one last year and I'm still walking around with my mouth open. You'll walk around look at some stuff and later that day or the next you'll walk by the same table and see something new even though it was there the last time. Everyone was very warm and willing to talk engraving (and everything else).

Hello All,
I am starting to look into traveling to Reno in 2008 also, its been a few years since I was there. Does anyone know what the entrance fee for the SCI show is, I have heard it is alot, but worth it. Figure if I put alittle away now maybe I caoud get there.
Thanks

James,
I can assure you it hasn't gotten any cheaper but it is impressive. I don't think the registration site for SCI is up yet but I think if you google Safari Club Show there is a site just for it. It depends on whether you are already a member or not. I think if you are not, it runs better then $150.00 or so for a day and $250 for a three. I could be wrong however.
Hope this helps.

Jim,
To go to the Safari Club Show you must first:
1- Join. This costs $55.00 for one year.
2- One day fee is $105.00 if you pre-register before Dec.14th
3- Four day fee is $260.00 again if you pre-register.
Now Sam, Rex and Lee, the probation police are meeting to see if your behavior will permit you three to enter the hallowed halls of SCI!!!!

Wow Glenn,
You beat me to the response. I guess I wasn't far off.
We usually turn our name tags around so they don't know who we are when we enter otherwise they might not let us in! Lee has to wear hat. They have wanted posters of him up!!

Glenn, maybe that is why I always have to "tip" the guy at the door to get in??
When I think of all the super taxidermy displays and the fine, fine, firearms on display and the ability to meet and talk with gun makers from all over the world (they really are a friendly bunch), not to mention the other thousand or so booths I get eager to send in my money. It is well worth the cost even if you only go once in a lifetime (hard to do)!! S

The SCI show is just out of this world. John & I were there at "sparrows fart" (that's means really early in NZ) and left just before the doors were closed. We had a fantastic time and went back to the hotel quite worn out. There was just so much to see that I couldn't take it all in and it was all top of the range stuff.........another world altogether!!!
Cheers

This might be a good time to put in my sales pitch....
Remember... Please stay at the Silver Legacy and use our group rate code.
Go the Exhibition page on the fega.com site..
http://www.fega.com/about/Convention.htm
Some of the package deals for flight/hotel offer cheap rates for a couple nights but prime nights are much more expensive and it all evens out. I've also heard some horror stories about booking the combined package and people have to move from room to room several times.
And of course, by using the group code, you are helping us put on this show.
