rotarty handpiece |
Has anyone ever used grs handpiece to remove metal? If so what type of bit. I have the tool and i use it for gunstocks and glass. I was engraving a piece of brass and wanted to do some relief work around a couple of places but wasnt for sure how to doit. So I was just wondering if anyone ever use the tool.
Thanks

Mark,
You can use them to remove background on metal. Use a round type carbide dental burr. You can't "hog" them but it will do a decent job.

I agree with Rex, Mark. Use a very light swiping motion...this thing will take off more metal than you realize so practice a little first. S

PS...I have used it for sculpting oak leaves and shaping the sides of M21 frames to good effect. S

A great place for dental buts is your dentist. My dentist saves his old used bits for me rather then throwing them away. The are too dull for screaming kicking patients and still plenty sharp for my uses. The best part of all is they are FREE. So make nice to your dentist and see what wonderful things he will give you rather than throwing them away.
Don't forget to floss.
