Showing/Editing the information about you and your work. |
For the FEGA Regular and Certified Professional Members who have chosen to show work on the site we want you to know you can edit some of the information about yourself and your engraving which shows on the site (in "Members/Engraving Photos"). Login, then go to 'for members' and then 'show your work'. When revising the site we had little or no text to go along with many of the photos of your engraving. It would be nice if you could add information or details about the work shown. Our visitors would love to know more about what you have done! Thanks.

I think that is a great idea. The only problem I have is that I need a complete set of how-to instructions in laymans "english" terms. This ole boy takes lots of time when it comes to computers. Something we could print (for study) would be nice.

I just noticed your post – sorry I didn’t respond sooner.
To show your work on the site:
First of all, only current FEGA ‘Regular’ or ‘Certified Professional’ engravers may show their work and contact info on the site. If you are such a member, log in with your username and password. Then go to the ‘for members’ link, then the ‘show your work’ link. I think the directions on the pages will provide the information you need. Also, for images to be shown they need to be provided to us. Email them to me or send a disk of them. These need not be high resolution images. We only show rather low resolution images which will load in under 10 seconds (generally) on a computer with a 56k connection.
If you do not know your username and password – please contact myself or someone listed on the contact FEGA page to tell you what they are. Each person has their own unique username and password. The April/May/June newsletters are being mailed now and an insert inside it will include a letter telling each member of their username and password.
If you have more questions please post them here. I will be glad to answer them. We hope the feature of being able to show your work on the site will be utilized and beneficial to each member, the guild, - and our customers.

Thank you for your question John. To answer your question each member’s contact information is stored in two locations. The first is in a database accessible only to FEGA administration. The other is for each member’s information shown on the site to the public – and this is the information each member may edit.
To edit your contact information, which visitors or potential clients to the guild site will see:
1. login with your username and password.
2. click the ‘for members’ link
3. click ‘show your work’
4. click the link near the top of the page for showing -or editing- your work.
The information you may edit is the information people see from the ‘engravers and photos’ link.
The information shown on the site which the public can see is (or may be) different than the guild database pertaining to the mailing of your newsletter or other guild mailings. The information for your newsletter may not be edited by anyone except site administrators. If you need to change your contact information for your newsletter, etc. you need to inform the guild administration at:
fegainfo@fega.com.
The web site was set up so members can choose what information to show the public. For example: some members may want to show the public only the city they live in – not their address, email address, phone, etc. To send a newsletter, a complete mailing address is required. One database has information for guild use only. The other is for the information shown to the public visiting the site.
If you have any more questions about editing your contact information or photos please ask and I will be glad to answer.
