The Engraver Newsletter 74

My copy of our newsletter #74 following the 2007 FEGA and ACGG Reno show just arrived.
It is the best issue yet and I note with some sadness that our editor William "Bill" Gamradt is passing the reins of publication over to our friend Andrew Biggs.
I use the term some sadness because I realize the huge load Bill has carried for us all for so long.
It's good to know that some of the load is to be shared now.
May I join with many others members in thanking Bill for the wonderful and artistic job he has done with our publication.
It is something for him to be very proud of.
Without wanting to add to Andrews burden, he must know that he is following in the footsteps of a class act and am sure he will arise to the challenge.
Again, thank you Bill. You have carried a heavy load with both the Engraver and as the webmaster of our forum for a long time.
I and others thank you for continuing to host the forum, another extremely important FEGA resource.
Best regards and thanks.
John.

John,
I second that! Bill has just done a CLASS ACT with the ENGRAVER!!
On the other hand I wish Bill a well deserved rest, but I'll still be bugging him for those things on the web site and forum. THanks SO much Bill!

John I second those comments whole heartedley as well.

Bill has done a first rate professional job on the Engraver magazine and I have some pretty big shoes to fill.

The magazine and this web site/forum etc is a class act from start to finish and a real credit to Bill's dedication and hard work for FEGA.

Cheers
Andrew

Seeing the newsletter made me fade back in my mind to the first ones that were mimiographed. When we made the jump to color it was a big jump forward.
The photos and layout of the newest issue is so damn professional looking it makes all the past frustrations all worth while.
Bill...you have done a amazing job with the newsletter and forum.your time and efforts do not go unnoticed and appreciated. As a past president of our guild I know how much time goes into what the officers do and the over the top efforts you have committed yourself to.
Well done and many thanks.
Andrew.you have some big shoes to fill and I look forward to the newsletter taking on an international flair

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the compliments, I appreciate it. It has been a pleasure to do the work I have done for the guild. The guild has been a good thing for me and it has been nice to be able to give something in return. Also, I want to thank all those who provided me with photos and articles. It made my job easier and it is what it takes to be able to make a good newsletter.
Andrew will, without doubt, do a fine job with our newsletter. Doing the newsletter is a big task. One thing members of the guild could do for Andrew to help him (and the guild) would be to provide him with good quality photos and articles to use.
It is amazing to think he lives on the other side of the world. I do, however, have some concerns about him doing the newsletter from New Zealand. One problem we will have to deal with is understanding the New Zealand language. While in Reno I didn’t have much of a problem understanding him - so in print maybe it won’t be too difficult either. My main worry, though, is how to read the newsletter. I hope it won’t take too long for me to learn how to read while standing on my head. Maybe after a few issues I will know how to do it. But then, knowing Andrew’s abilities with computers and the internet, he may have already figured out how to get things right side up for us North Americans.

Again, thanks for the compliments, and please remember to help Andrew. I know he can do a great job for us - but he can’t do it alone.
