Hi Mark,

There are manny different idea about the best scope.
But did you notice that FEGA Master Mike Dubber has an Olympus complete with Acrobat stand and ring light available for sale?
This is a very fine microscope, I have that exact same setup myself.
This is a great piece of equipment that you can't go wrong with.
If memory serves me Mike had it priced for $1,000, stand, scope and light over in the Igraver website.
I'm pretty sure you can get Mikes contact information here or over on the Igraver site.

Hope this helps

My first microscope was a chinese clone. The optics weren't bad through the range but it was always dark when looking through the scope especially when the magnification was cranked up. I never could get enough light to see well for engraving. After a year and half of fighting it I bought a Meiji on line from MilesCo Scientific and sold the clone at a heavy discount. The Meiji microscope is very popular with engravers around the country and I am very happy with mine. Check MilesCo out. I got my Meiji from them at what I think was a very good price.
