bulino or banknote techniques

I wasn't fortunate enough to be at the 1996 seminar when Eric Gold described his techniques. Mike Dubber gave a brief summary in Issue 30, but I have been amazed at how little is written anywhere about bulino techniques. Meek dosen't even have the word in his book, even though he shows many examples of bulino. Turpin and Bleile describe what it is supposed to be, but I can't find anyone describing the techniques. Excellent examples I have in abundance. But where can I find good instructions on doing fine bulino work? Was there any kind of recording made of Eric Gold's seminar? Has anyone written a handbook on the techniques?

Hi Stu

In the books/videos section of this web site there is a DVD/Video of a Chris DeCamillis seminar in 2004 called Bulino Techniques. It's very good and he does an excellent job of explaining it all. There is also a casting on the "Castings" page of this web site of a duck that he uses to demonstate with. I would highly recommend getting both these items as they are worth their weight in gold. I found them to be really helpful.

Best regards

Thanks Andrew and Ron for prompt replies... I can't believe that I missed the obvious "Bulino Techniques" in the DVD list. I guess I was preocupied with Eric Gold's seminar. I ordered them right away. Great work, Andrew, on the tribute to John. He has spent many years helping so many of us and it's a beautiful tribute, well deserved!
