How does one know when the diamond sharpening wheels and ceramic wheels need to be cleaned?

It is the free microsoft clip art site. Type in borders and see what comes up. Most of the stuff on it is rubbish for engraving purposes but there is the odd bits and pieces that are reasonabley good.

A site I would highly recommend is a pay site and is at www.istockphoto.com You can browse through it for free but to download costs about $1 to $6 per image depending on what resolutionyou want. They have photographic files as well as vector files.

This site is truly amazing and has some incredible stuff in it and when you think about what you are engraving then the cost becomes insignificant.

thanx Andrew. I too am a sign artist and airbrush artist. This engraving game is however very demanding. I have only been at this for around 1 1/2 years and have a mountain of stuff to learn. thanx agian Billy Jo

Then you will really like the istockphoto.com site

Try typing in scroll and see what comes up. Some truly amazing stuff and in vector format as well. Files like *ai etc that can be imported into any vector programme.

Another thing you could try is those dover books as they have some pretty good stuff in them. There is also a few cheap books out on printers ornaments that are quite good as well.

Yes, a mountain of stuff to learn alright. Some days the mountain gets bigger because for every question that's answered another four pop up!!!!
